Students are expected to do the following:
– Have fun
– Participate with limited or no parent participation
– Keep hands to themselves
– Be respectful to other people, places and things
– Arrive to class on time
– Use the restroom before class
In the event your child has difficulty following the rules, the following procedures will be enforced in a sequential manner.
1. The student will be asked to please pay attention and refocus in Spanish.
2. The student will be asked to please pay attention and refocus in English, or they will have to “Take a Break”
3. If the child doesn’t refocus, they will have to “Take a Break” or “Tomar un Desanso” at the “Take a Break Space”. At this space children can decompress and take a breather. There will be a two minute sand timer for knowing when to return to the group and a squishy ball for taking the tension away.
4. If the child returns from the space and there is still not a positive change, the parent will have to take their child out of the classroom and help with redirecting their child.
5. Students can return only if they are in a positive state and with parent participation in the class.
Since this class meets only once a week for one hour, it is important to make the most of the learning time and not have any disruptions or distractions.
